PCD 2025: Eco-design at Embalforme

Don’t miss this must-attend trade show, taking place this year on 28 and 29 January 2025 at Paris Porte de Versailles.

PCD is the flagship event for packaging suppliers, luxury and beauty brands, innovative startups, and even spas. As one of the most influential trade shows in the packaging sector, PCD is the ideal stage for Embalforme to highlight its commitment to eco-design.

This year, three key qualities are being showcased: lightweight, natural, and recycled. These values are expressed through lightweight glass, bio-based refills, and PCR glass.

Lighter :

The lightweight aspect is represented through the Plume collection. This range, made from lightweight glass, is eco-friendly, easy to handle, and fully customizable. Lightweight glass provides several advantages, such as lower energy consumption during production, reduced CO₂ emissions, and more sustainable transport. Production is less energy-intensive thanks to the use of electric furnaces, which consume far less energy than traditional gas or combustion furnaces and help reduce the carbon footprint. The reduced weight of Plume jars and bottles also improves transport efficiency by allowing optimized load volumes and fewer delivery trips, which benefits both the environment and logistics costs. The Plume collection includes

  • 50ml jars (57g)
  • 30ml bottles (52g)
  • 50ml bottles (78g).

More natural :

The natural dimension is highlighted through the Omega collection, an innovative range composed of a reusable glass jar and a bio-based refill. This refill is made from plants such as flax, hemp and reed. Unlike traditional packaging made from petroleum-based plastics, this refill contains no petroleum, reducing emissions linked to fossil resource extraction and supporting a more sustainable approach. The natural materials used allow CO₂ emissions to be cut by half compared with conventional processes. The refill easily snaps into one of our PCR glass jars. The final consumer simply recycles the used refill and purchases a new one without replacing the glass jar, offering both an ecological and economical solution. The Omega collection includes 30ml and 50ml refills.

More recycled :

The recycled aspect is reflected across all our products. At Embalforme, we use PCR glass (Post-Consumer Recycled), a recycled material sourced externally that feeds our furnaces before shaping our molds. We also use PIR glass (Post-Industrial Recycled), coming from manufacturing waste. PCR glass offers several benefits: reduced use of virgin resources, lower carbon footprint, decreased energy consumption, and integration into a virtuous circular loop that protects the environment. A total of 40% of the glass used in our production is PCR.
